I love wood floors stopped. It is good for the environment, and so, so beautiful. I am biased, but I do not think many people have seen real cord wood floor want disagree. But like most beautiful things in life, you need to groom them. You must be aware of responsibilities related to taking care of stopping wood before you decide to make the investment. The tips below will help you maintain your cork wood flooring for years to come.
Small particles of dirt can scratch your cork floor, so make sure you vacuum or sweep your floor regularly. This should be done within a week to keep it looking smooth and shiny. One tip that can reduce the amount of vacuuming or revisions need to do is put a mat on any doors that lead in a room with cork flooring. It's not too much to ask to have guests wipe their feet before stepping on your floor.
Use only cleaners designed specifically for hardwood. Do not use just water on your floor. Wipe spills immediately, lest you risk damaging your floor. Use a well wrung, damp mop to do your cleaning the floor - not one full of liquid. Avoid harsh abrasive cleaners, oil, or ammonia-based cleaners. Moist lightly mop the floor every month to maintain its brilliance.
Avoid furniture that could scratch your floor. Place floor protectors the feet of your furniture so they are not coming in direct contact with the floor. Use mats and wide wheels with furniture that is movable. When moving furniture, never drag it. Sorry, but you need to lift it and carefully set it in place.
Place / put a rug or mat in areas of floor to be walked frequently, as in parts of a kitchen. Is premature prevent wear and keep your floor looking over even. However, it is best to avoid mats with rubber or porous backings because they can trap moisture. You want your floor to stay dry.
Try not to have too much weight on any one place on your floor. Even weight distribution will prevent indentations and help those looking for shiny surfaces and even.
Aim for 50% humidity in the room with cork flooring. As the humidity inside the room declines, wood begins to release moisture, and eventually recession. This is bad news for your floor. You may want to invest in a humidifier to make sure your room stay moist enough to keep your cork floor healthy. Cork is not susceptible to the problem of other types of wood, but do not take the chance.
Do not expose your cork floor to excessive sunlight. It is to lose your floor much more quickly. Maintain adequate screening in the room has stopped floor drapes, curtains, or other day-blocking items.
Watch out for water seepage from the plant or any other entity that holds water. If your plants are seeping water, put something under them to catch water before it hits your floor.
If you follow the tips above, your cork wood flooring will remain beautiful for years to come.
