Unlike many other sports superstars Tiger Woods has never been people to surround himself in controversy. He was not the last of paparazzi following him. He was not shedding tears on national television the other players. He never gives his opinions on Tom Cruise or Britney Spears in the tabloids and he certainly not giving an opinion on racial relations in professional golf or otherwise.
Woods has not been especially speaking about his opinion on anything other than the game of golf. In fact, while he was on the verge of making history invitation Buick, Woods remains an enigma to much consideration to him as a cultural icon that could make greater impact on the social issues.
In the last few weeks Woods is subjected to close by the same scrutiny media and by other celebs in the light of some cultural insensitive "kill" remark made by Golf Channel anchor Kelly Tilghman and also by the recent controversial "noose" cover of Golfweek magazine.
Woods seems almost no changes by either incident and called the Tilghman sentence of a non-issue. " Most dismay of waiting for a racial powder barrels to explode Woods remained calm, gentle and cool in the same ordeals, stopping only to show the public when prodded repeatedly by the media pressure and outspoken sports commentators in the country.
Jim Brown, former professional African-American football star, who stated that he thinks Woods should stand not only for himself but for Black athletes in general but Woods is not budging. He has accepted an apology from Tilghman and said that two old friends and he knows he did not mean to poison her word.
Many like Brown has been suggested that Woods has made to become more responsible society. Woods is fully aware of want him to be a champion racial groups Injustices. He has stated before that he came down the road and feel the so-called controversy about his stance on issues of racial in modern golf is media-driven.
People forget that Woods is part of African-American and while he is absolutely not famous he is outspoken an individual with any type of issue except those that directly affects his swing. They forgot that just because he is a Superstar, he is not signed up become political mouth anyone. He is and always was a classy gentlemen who tends let the media fall and burn their own controversies.
To scenario Woods holds the same situation professional and founder. It's a no-brainer what Kelly Tilghman said was sad or the cover of Golfweek was unpalatable. Anyone can see that. It does not melodramatic about this because in the end, it all worked itself out, minus any protests, boycotts or visits from reputable Al Sharpton. Woods pagdederekta in the event such a person, albeit a quiet one. Above all hold it to class.
Woods knows all too well the incidents of a racial nature just take their power from fear, ignorance and incessant media attention. Woods is not need to speak out against the absurdity of the media using words like "kill" or putting nooses on the cover of glossy magazines - these was absurd enough in themselves.
Woods is like any other sports Superstar paid massive sums of money from sponsors to sustain a certain image. People in the world in general does not support social issues. Woods is not African-Americans have is such pressure to make a stand? Real Jack Nicklaus was not asked to speak out against racial Injustices in the world golf, so why Tiger?
Woods does not strangers to influence or power, especially in the world of professional golf. Certainly, he has pressed the issue, Kelly Tilghman was fired. Regardless of what people outside the world of golf he think he is the number of socially responsible as he should. He is often referred to his foundation and activities with children as very socially responsible and important to him. The Tiger Woods Learning Center in Anaheim has reached a little over 16,000 children in just two years and the Tiger, what matters most.
