Collectibles: What Copeland late Spode China patterns include symbols?
A griffin, a purple flower, a lamp and a lily. Sure the symbol related to a particular organization, club, or public office (British, Canadian or American)? I found a set of vintage china Copeland Spode pattern with it. I did not find any references to it or photograph anything that resembles this pattern. The china is circa 1927. Any help is appreciated.
While I do not know specifics about your pattern, I will offer some information. It is possible that while the chins are manufactured by Copeland-Spode, it may has delivered a blank and decorated by an individual or specific stores. It is often made by manufacturers china, however, more often in the 19th century. Many pieces the market are manufactured by companies renown for a thriving industry of small house of porcelain painters. For more specifics on your pattern can can check your local library for resources. Kovels books are often information in this area. You can even find some specific reference books Copeland-Spode.
