Polyester is a category of polymers which mainly comprises of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET). Polyester is a synthetic polymer made from PTA and MEG. Polyester story is the main product in the polyester category. Almost 40% of world production of polyester is directly used to produce polyester yarn.
Polyester yarn is made by direct Spinning of PTA and MEG. It also did Spinning PET Chips which is also a bi product made from PTA and MEG. Some the largest in the world of PTA products are British Petroleum, creed, Sinopec, SK-Chemicals, Mitsui and Eastman Chemicals. MEG production is in the hands of about 10 global players where the hair by MEGlobal a JV of PIC DOW and Kuwait followed by Sabic.
The main use of the polyester is in the field of textiles for making polyester Yarns. Polyester in various forms are widely used in textile applications to produce polyester (PET) resin and Filament Stories like slightly oriented yarn (POY), Polyester Textured drawn yarn (DTY), polyester full drawn yarn (FDY), Polyester staple fiber (PSF), Polyester made yarn (PSY), Technical yarn, tire cord yarn filaments and Mono. Polyester yarn is also used for making packing applications such as polyester film, insulation tapes, strapping and a few other daily use items. Polyester filament Yarns are used in knitting & weaving to make polyester cloth as the cloth Home buyers and furniture such as curtains, bed sheets, bed spreads and draperies. Similarly high tenacity industrial polyester Yarns can be used to do good, conveyor belt, safety belt & rubber cloth. The polyester staple fiber is mainly used as fiber fills stuff pillows, pillow, sofa and beddings. POY yarn is available in different sheen like Semi-dull POY POY and Bright. The Bright POY was clear to them for cross-section the filaments. The fabric made from POY Bright also has a bright luster. Polyester POY story is mainly available in Raw White & color is available in various different color. POY usually color technology dope thread is better and the story will get consistent color each and every part. Color master-batch is mixed with raw materials to make the dope POY yarn. Dope dyed yarn POY can be used to make dope dyed yarn DTY.
Polyester DTY story is also available in different colors of yarn dope technology or by conventional dyeing. Dope dyed DTY is usually packed in paper BOBBINS where Raw White DTY used for dyeing is conveniently packed in perforated plastic tube so that all stories can be easily when bobbin thread is dipped in color. DTY is mainly produced in large quantities in China, India and Taiwan and is exported world-wide.
