If a company reabsorbs a spin-off, what happens to employee option stock?
I work for a spin-off of a larger company and received a number of options in subsidiaries when I was accepted. Now it looks as though the parent company may reabsorb the subsidiary because there They lower visibility and want to regain traction industry. What happens to my options? They converted to stock in the parent company? Paid out? What general implications to the company if they reabsorb a subsidiary with 500 + employees? Thank you! I should probably state that I am vested in the company, which is the US-based already.
It depends on the agreement that was executed between the creatures and spin off the original parent. In many ways, now that the spin off occurs, suction is like a purchase.
