Where in Abbotsford, British Columbia in Canada can I buy some Sculpey polymer clay?
I want to make some radish earrings like Luna Lovegoods. I found this site:% 3A-http://www.instructables.com/id/Harry-Potter Luna_s-radish-earrings / and it says I need some green, Purplish-red, and white Sculpey polymer clay ... but im not too sure which store has them in stock in Abbotsford. You? thanks:)
I'm not sure what kind of stores you have in the Abbotsford, polymer clay but can usually be purchased at the craft store, art supply stores and some hobby stores. Most stores will carry only one or two brands, but they vary in what they are. It may be purchased online, which is often cheaper. Check this page if you want some place to mail order from: http://glassattic.com/polymer/supplysources.htm (... click on the category "Non-USA" and find Canadian suppliers if you want to order from Canada in particular) I would suggest, however, do not use Sculpey ( "Sculpey III") partciular for the project because that brand is very brittle after baking in any thin * or projecting area, and a small cross in the radishes will definitely tear if subjected to much stress. The brand called FimoSoft are somewhat stronger, but FimoClassic, Premo, Kato, and all Cernit is the strongest. polymer clay must be baked well its strongest though, so be sure to preheat, and buy and use a cheap oven thermometer so you can be sure oven is really reaching and stay the temp you set the dial (not many ovens). Another disadvantage of this darkens Sculpey easier than other brands as well, though it is "appropriate" suggested temperature (the other was better, with Kato is the best). As for colors, you can paint the clay (with acrylics) if you do not find the color you want (you can also mix colors of polymer clay together as you would mix paints to get just about any other colors too). Or you can color white clay by mixing either oil paints (the kind of artists use) or alcohol such as links or Ranger pinata with clay color it.
