The legend of Santa Claus can be traced back hundreds of years. The story begins with a monk named Saint Nicholas. As legend goes, Saint Nicholas was born sometime around 280 AD in Patara, Turkey which is near Myra in Turkey the country we know today. Most admired for his piety and kindness, St. Nicholas is the center of many grand Tales. The Legends are passed down from generations and generations of children.
It is thought that he immediately gave all his of inherited wealth and wealth so he can travel to the country. He wanted to travel so he can help the poor and sick. One of the more popular St. Nick is the story one to him about saving three poor sisters from being sold to a life of slavery or prostitution by their father. Other stories tell of St. Nick saving people from hunger and disease, economic life of the innocently accused, and more. He has many kind and generous act of self-return anything.
Over hundreds of years, the popularity Saint Nicholas's spread around the world. The Saint became known as the great protector of children. He is admired for his work to help the poor. He is also revered for his great Christian faith. During the revival, St. Nicholas is the most popular holy in all Europe. Even after the Protestant Reformation, when the admiration of all the saints have been inside, Saint Nicholas was able to maintain a good reputation. He was honored by all the Christian world, both East and West. The West, he is especially honored as he considered the great advocate Saint of children and the gift giver happy. He is often called Santa Claus.
The anniversary of his death was thought to be December 6, one day the festival is known. It is traditionally considered a lucky day to get married or make a big purchase. Another tradition that we all are familiar writing a letter to Santa. Writing letters to Santa Claus is a Christmas tradition for many years. The letters from children usually include a wishlist of toys and gifts. Often the children include their performance of good behavior. The letters from Santa will still be sent each year to worldwide.
