A Standard Rose I am growing has leaf shoots in the buds?
I am growing a Standard Rose, (Happy Birthday) and most of the partially open flower buds have leaf shoots coming from the centre and the rest of the flower bud does not develop any further and is starting to wilt. Any sensible comment would be appreciated
My only guess would be a phosphorus defiency only because it sounds like the nitrogen and potassium ratio seem to be overpowering the rose to grow when instead it should be flowering, it would explain the weak rose buds, what fertiliser are you using?
