Many are living in the wrong orientation of what Christmas is all about. It is not all about shopping for new things like shoes, bags and gifts. It is very day of the year when families (and even extended families) get the rare opportunity to bond.
Quality time with children and other members of family matters most this time of year, although we can not just kick the shopping tradition, practice of giving gifts (or even sending a greeting card) and traditional happy dining table.
For moms, which are generally considered as responsible and the principal architect of most (if not all) official and gathering, there are actually few tips you may want to know as to maintain the important bonding moment at the top of your fatigue during preparation for the holidays.
Family Cooking Session
There are menus in our cook books require the participation of members of the family members, especially your kids. Baking cake is one. Or better yet, ask your children to do the baking themselves with ready-to-bake dough or cookies. The ready to bake stuffs food is conveniently available in the markets where the closest you and your family.
Baking cakes for children is truly amuse or charm them, especially with colorful icing and toppings. Start kids off to a baking party.
Watch Classic Christmas Movies
Convening your family before television and DVD player to watch a classic Christmas film tackling is another good idea. In fact, it is always effective even though it is not Christmas season.
For Yule, watching the Home alone (1, 2 and 3) film series will be a hit especially for children, but for families who see the film a young boy who got lost three times in the nick of Christmas, I always have other classics entertaining consistent. Polar Express is one. Other recommended Christmas classics are Little Women, Tree grows in Brooklyn, Charlie Brown Christmas, among others.
While watching a holiday classic film, popcorn would be A smart things food to keep them busy. Do not forget sodas too.
Donning for Photo-Ops
Family assembling for a family photo shoot was also a clever gimmick, especially for children, known as a passion of testing their new get-ups. It allows them also have their own photo-ops, copies of that they post on their social networking site on the internet.
Night of Asia and Quizzes
Moms can also try playing host to a quiz show game types. The game should however be related to Christmas, Christmas traditions, the people, facts and trivia. Way moms get to not only consider her kids, she also gets to add some knowledge to them.
Allocating prize (such as candies, cookies, chocolates, cakes to others) sounds good too. However, moms have to be careful about his kids that is not to get the right answer. Consolation prize is fine.
Be a role model. Moms (and indeed all of us) should never remove from our mind what Christmas is all about. It's time for sharing. Sharing a hard thing to not be expensive. What matters is the thought of this. GP
