Sure, faux wood, vinyl and composite window treatment is cheaper. However, I know a lot of people just go for the real thing. And, I understand I, it is difficult to duplicate the warmth, luxury and character of real wood blinds and shades. Do not have a vinyl dining room table you? Certainly not. Wood blinds and shades are much would fine wood furniture. They are made from Hardwoods, usually basswood, and may come in a variety of stains to enhance the grain and compliment your decor.
Of course, the first in any list window treatment wood must be wood window blinds. Wood blinds, usually made from basswood, at present, is a renewable resource for the ecologically-minded people. The blinds are much like mini blinds in form but usually larger slats, from the range of ½ "to 3 inches. The ½" wood blinds are commonly called wood mini blinds and a good choice for very small window or French doors. As a rule of thumb, the larger the window, the larger the size of the slat. And, the larger the size of the slat in the greater view-through; more big slats, when open, have more space between and therefore let more light. Wood blinds come in a variety of stains including paints. But, I'm not sure of the wisdom of buying painted wood blinds; mean what's the point? The stain options will allow you to unite almost any other other wood coloring in your home, such as furniture, wood flooring, cabinetry, etc.
Next, to the plantation shutters. Shutters are not necessary for all. But the right setting they are attractive. They also one of the few window treatments can really add value to your home. That said shutters are not the most utilitarian of window treatments because they allow more view-through when the slats are opened, and they still the best option for room darkening. Also most rooms do not have enough space to allow you to swing the door "open the shutters for maximum see-through, so they tend to stay closed all the time. In my opinion, shutters are best placed in the windows which are not too concerned with light control of-view by, for example street-facing windows of your home. plantation shutters are made after the old exterior storm shutters you see in older homes, homes or in areas where the Hurricanes often hit. They are meant to protect the window from outside and can be closed and latched shut when bad weather is coming. However, when placed inside, where the area is more limited, this feature of being able to open them up wide as a set of French doors usually impossible.
A lesser known option among treatment window wood, wood vertical blinds are. Wood vertical blinds are not for everyone. The They are best used when coordinating other wood window treatments or when it will compliment a particular décor. Another option for sliding doors glass or other large windows will be panel track blinds in wood hand vanes. This way you can still coordinate with other components of wood in your undecked the visual weight of the vertical wood.
This is a good segway to other wood-like options. need not be like wood blinds or shutters in every room but nevertheless still wants to maintain the look and feel of natural materials and colors. In this case you need to look hand wood shades, known as bamboo blinds. Woven woods come in a large variety of materials from simple bamboo with a mixture of Reeds, grasses, bamboo, wood and linens be good. In such a large selection of materials, colors and textures, it is easy to select the right hand to shade the wood compliment to your wood-themed decor.
The last option is roman shades. Roman shades are usually made of cloth, like linen, silk or man-made material. But there are some roman shades to use forests as hand well, although the choice is not as abundant as hand in forest.
You have it, a list of blinds> window blinds and shades, when only wood will do. Sure, there are cheaper options, such as title = "vinyl plantation shutters"> vinyl plantation shutters but if you have blinds> wood blinds, even when you know what your options are. - David Brooks
