How my longhorn steer from jumping the fence?
One of my longhorn steers are jumping the fence to the neighbors lawn with his cattle. We ran a hot wire along the top of the fence, but he just jumps right on it. He has another longhorn, 12 horses and 100 acres of grass on his side wall. I need to find a way to keep him in Any thoughts? The fence is more than 1 / 4 miles in length and share with neighbors. The property is not cross fenced yet. It will take a few hundred dollars to do it. My husband was out of town until September, so it must be something I can do myself. It is a tall order I know. Thanks for your ideas.
You can try raising the height of your hot wire. Or, do you have a way of movng him to the opposite side (and keeping him there) of your property away from cattle neighbors?
