WoW Leatherworking -Crafting Leather Armor and Other Useful Items
As one of the crafting profession in the World of Warcraft, Leatherworking can be used to create a variety of great items. At first you will focus on creating Leather Armor but you should know that Leatherworking is more than that. You probably know that you are going to need loads of leather for the Leatherworking profession. Choosing Skinning as your second profession would be ideal since you will have the opportunity to gather all the mats you need by yourself. At a later stage you can also make Mail Armor but we’ll get back on that later.
Apart from the leather armor you are able to craft, you can also make some profitable items such as leather bags. Besides this you can also craft armor kits that can be used to improve some items or can be sold as well. However, the highlights when it comes to items a Leatherworker can craft are Leg Armors which are a nice boost for your char’s armor. An extra bonus is that a Leatherworker can create soulbound Leg Armors for himself only. These Leg Armors are stronger than the ones he can sell.
The Leatherworker can also make Fur Lining which goes on the bracers and is better than any Enchant out there. A Leatherworker is able to craft different types of Fur Linings that he can use to improve his dps, spell casting or tanking abilities. With the variety of items he can make, a Leatherworker can earn a nice amount of gold as well as boost his stats. As you reach the higher levels of the Leatherworking profession you can specialize yourself in specific branches of Leatherworking.
Dragonscale Leatherworking.
With this type of LW you can create armor sets that are not only made from leather. By choosing Dragonscale spec of Leatherworking he will be able to create Mail Armor as well. The Shaman and Hunter class will have benefits from this spec because they wear mail.
Elemental Elements of Leatherworking.
This type of Leatherworking has been designed for players who wear leather and have taken the Leatherworking profession. Think in example about a Restoration Druid or Balance Druid that can make a lot of nice Leather gear with a lot of spellpower etc.
Tribal Leatherworking. Tribal Leatherworking is often chosen by Rogues and Feral Druids. This type of Leatherworking will allow Leatherworkers to create items that will improve their melee damage and tanking capabilities.
Being able to specialize yourself in particular parts of Leatherworking is great because you can then fulfill the needs of your character better. If you specialize yourself in one branch you can still craft many good items that are available to all three types of Leatherworkers.
Leatherworking is a really useful profession if you belong to one of the classes that wear leather or mail armor such as Hunters and Shamans (mail) or Rogues and Druids (leather). With the other nice trade goods you can make like the armor kits and bags you will be able to earn some money with your profession as well.
Apart from being able to craft armor kits and bags you can make various BoE epic/rare items that you can easily sell to other players through the Trade Channel or on the Auction House. Because you can also improve your own bracers and use those Fur Linings for your legs, Leatherworking is a great profession.
