Half Filipinos = Gorgeous?
By the way, if I had a kid will that kid look good if i'm a filipino-brazilian-caucasian and my husband is korean?
I'm part Filipino (brazilian, filipino *mom and portuguese, spanish *dad) myself and I happen to notice that almost half filipinos are good-looking. Why is that so? I'm not saying I'm gorgeous but the half-filipinos I know are very good-looking people.
A person's perception of beauty in another person is more often than based on other people's (e.g., family, friends, media) collective opinions on the subject.
In the Phils. it seems that everyone raves about the "halves" "beauty" (especially as sermoned by TV show hosts and guests), so after a while everyone starts to believe it and it sadly becomes fact.
In the US and Eurrope, conversely, everyone raves about tanned caucasians and naturally dark-skinned people as being "exotically gorgeous" and so, naturally, that perception spreads to most who listen.
What I'm saying is that in reality, I betcha I can take a population survey of all "halves" and conclude that only approximately 50% of them can be considered attractive, even by the perceived standards of common society, which, I betcha again, would be exactly the same percentage of attractive members of full-blooded pinoys.
And why does it seem that all of the halves you see on the street and on TV/movies seem to be the very attractive type? Well, people probably lock up from public view all the hideous ones--just like what some of the ful-blooded ones do. LOL.
What I'm really saying is that:
Yes, I completely believe you when you said "[you're] not saying I'm gorgeous", because I've seen quite a few strange-looking ones in my lifetime.
