Can I use leather dye on a leather hand bag?
I found a super nice bag but in the nastiest colour ever so was super cheap.
Can I use dark green or dark red leather dye on it? And do I just use a sponge or something for application?

Can I make it come out any darker with double application?

Its sorta like a brown green vomit colour right now, good point about the stitching, I hadnt even thought of that. But it'll work though right?
This will depend on the type of leather you have.
A dye soaks into the leather itself and can only be used on absorbent (aniline style) leathers. If you sue it on a coated (pigmented) leather it will simply swirl about on the surface and come off onyour clothes. Generally speaking you cannot change the colour only enrich it on these type of leathers.
If you have a coated (finished/pigmented) leather then you need to use pigments to change the colour (colour change with these is possible) The critical thing here is the preparation and finishing as if there is any dirt or grease present the pigments will not stick anf fisnishing with good products is essential.
