Lavender sprouts look dried up?
I grow lavender from seed in a small pot. I water them regularly, so I know they are not dry due to lack of water. In fact they were fine this morning and when I look at them late afternoon, two out of three of my sprouts look dry (the the remaining third longer looks quite fine). The leaves look brown and wrinkled, where one of the sprouts' leaves appears to be completely missing. Have any explanation for it? I grow them on my windowsill and he was wondering if the sunlight may be too extreme, although I thought lavender needs full sunlight. My sprouts still very young, they do not have their second set of leaves yet.
I have about 15 lavender bushes in my property most Lavendula dentata is but a few Lavendula angustifolia. Anyway I often have little lavender plants popping up under the big ones and then I dig them and replant these. I also become more lavender plants by taking cuttings of that work very well in my case. As for your seedlings it is possible that if the land is too moist The Roots will rot and the plants die. It is quite common in many seedlings is called damping off and it is caused by a fungus in the soil, your garden store will have killed the fungus. You can also right that the day is more for them in their small stage and a partially shaded area to start to be better. Without knowing your exact circumstances are still difficult to say. But if you use a good quality well drained potting This mix will help resolve any mistakes in watering.
