What happens when The woman invites him for a beer, and he declines, right after that? I guess he died cause I saw the police told the wife something.
Tommy Lee Jones was riding to the Hotel where Llewelyn was staying and he sees a truck full of people getting from the hotel parking lot. He pulls up and sees that women by the pool is shot. There are a couple of people in the parking lot after the money that Llewelyn was shot and was found shot to death in his room.
