Is it weird if I use big words I'm learning mixed with my generally small vocabulary?
Is it to weird if I throw in an occasional big word? Or do I just sound like a try-hard? Example:
I stopped getting my allowance when I was 8. This is because I was expected to do my chores, and they didn't want to pay me for it.
As for my friends, they never got allowances. Their parents were very ADAMANT because they thought chores were a family responsibility.
So long as you use them correctly (which of course you did in your exmaple), you should definitely use your full vocabulary. It will serve you well later in life if you keep expanding and using it.
