Make homemade soap and you enjoy watching the stunning transformation of fat and oil in the luxury soap. This is a wonderful process. The basic ingredients of all the soap water, fat and lye. Combination of three materials in the correct size results in a product that does not resemble any of the ingredients. Here are some tips on choosing the fat.
You can make soap with almost any kind of fat. Which includes most of the oils too. Anything from the peanut oil in mink oil will work. The challenge in designing part soap recipe soap made from different fat have different characteristics. Plus not all the paintings cost the same either.
Central to most soap recipes is one single type of oil. It is coconut oil. Palm kernel oil are also almost identical. Why coconut oil? It is almost soap. See, not yet really makes soap lathers like coconut oil. Not that other oils soap is not working soap. It's just that no other oil produces soap bubbles and soap like coconut. At least not as such an affordable price.
Coconut oil is not the perfect oil soap though. Here's why ... Coconut oil soap cleans so it strips the oil from the skin and results in building a feeling. This is a great cleaner but a difficult moisturizer as an oil soap. That is where the other oil is better.
For example, the star as moisturizer soap oil is olive oil. It is the property of real attracting moisture to the skin so it is a good moisturizer. Now olive oil makes a large number of oil based soap only. That is what soap is Castile Classic ... All olive oil soap. But the pure olive oil soap only makes a thin to lather with tiny bubbles. This is a luxury soap, but it calls out for some help by coconut oil.
Already have other heavy oils used to often do a large part of the soap.
Chief ingredient in many commercial soaps are fat or beef fat. That might sound a bit yucky, but remember to turn fat almost soap. So even if the soap is made with fat, very little if any actual fat left in the finished soap. It is now soap. So what about fat as a component of soap?
It / it makes very white soap. It makes very difficult, long-lasting soap. Here are some bubbles but not much. It cleans good too, but not like oil. It is fairly moisturizing, but not like olive oil. It's too cheap. In short, it combines well with coconut and olive oil to make good soap.
Usually palm oil, not palm kernel oil, are used as the vegetable equivalent of fat. This is the amount of fat doing what, but the higher value, even without the negative stigma of animal fat.
The combination of olive, coconut and palm oils makes almost ideal soap. The three are the basic fat making homemade soap of the highest quality.
But What about shea butter? What about half of hemp oil? What about cherry pit oil or apricot kernel oil or emu oil or what?
All kinds of oil from other countries can contribute to good handmade soap. However, use three main oil alone and can build a superior soap and reasonable costs. Only resort to high priced, exotic oils to tweak an extraordinary soap. High price oil is not correct faulty design of a homemade soap.
Make homemade soap with only some basic ingredients and you can make very superior soap. Exotic ingredients are not a substitute for a well-thought-out combination of simple ingredients like oil based soap.
